RULES

The Dance Battles are organized in two categories:

Solo :

• preselections – 45-second solo presentation to music served by a DJ. 8 people are selected within a given style based on the judges’ assessments.

• 1/4 finals – 1 vs 1 fight, one round of 60 seconds for each participant to a song played by the DJ. The winner is chosen by the judges.

• 1/2 finals – 1 vs 1 fight, two rounds of 60 seconds each for each participant to a song set by the DJ. The winner is chosen by the judges.

• final – 1 vs 1 fight, two rounds of 60 seconds for each participant to a song set by the DJ. The winner is chosen by the judges.

• grand finale and confrontation between styles – the winners of each style fight for the title of champion of the 10th edition of Reggaeton vs Dancehall Congress.

• In the TWERK CATEGORY there are different rules given below:

Round 1

Presentation Round –  the competitors prepare choreographies to the music of their choice. Output duration 1 minute. Creativity, dance technique, musicality, outfit and overall aesthetic impression are assessed. The best 8 participants move on to the next round.

Round 2

The competitors draw an everyday item with which they present themselves in the round just before leaving. The competitor must use the item in the most creative way possible. The music is randomly selected by the DJ. Duration: 45 seconds Creativity, dance technique, musicality and use of props are assessed. Two participants will advance to the finals.

FINAL

Finals The contestants perform battle dances in the exits 2 times for 45 seconds each.

ATTENTION !!! music should be sent no later than April 1, 2024 to the e-mail address biuro@rvdk.eu with the note TWERK BATTLE – songs only in MP3 format. Performance time cannot be longer than 60 seconds.

Showcase (REGGAETON/TWERK/DANCEHALL style dance formations):

• the formation presents itself to its own music. The presentation can last a maximum of 210 seconds (3:30 min),

• each group performs once in a given dance style,

• the winning formation is chosen by the judges.

• the formation category will be performed within 3 styles (dancehall, reggaeton, twerk) at the same time. The best presentation will be selected. Exceeding the presentation time is tantamount to disqualification of the group.

The organizer reserves the right to close the starting lists before the deadline for applications.

For a competition in a given category to take place, at least 8 participants are required.

The panel of judges and its decisions are beyond question. Qualifications, semi-finals and finals in the solo category will be assessed by a jury of 2-3 judges.

The organizer reserves the right to disqualify a participant or group in the event of inappropriate behavior or failure to comply with these regulations.

All disputes or issues not included in the regulations will be resolved by the Organizer.

Participants take part in the competition at their own risk. The tournament organizer is not liable for the consequences of accidents and does not provide life insurance, health insurance or civil liability insurance.

The organizer is not responsible for items left on the premises of the Club.

The organizer reserves the right to produce film and photographic documentation of the tournament and publish it in the media. Both participants and viewers agree to the free and indefinite distribution and use of their image by Reggaeton vs Dancehall.

The awards and judging panel will be published around February.

Registration for the competition will start on January 1, 2024
